My First Attempt at Coupons

On three transactions at Rite Aid, I spent a total of $56.84 for $139.78 worth of merchandise but also earned $33.50 in UP rewards ($ off to use for future shopping trips) so it was like getting everything for $23.34 (or that's what the coupon blogs say anyway, lol).  Now that I've gotten my purchases home, I've found a few other stray coupons (of course!) so I could have saved a few more bucks.  But oh well, I'm just trying to learn the system right now and figure out how all of this works!

Here's how it went down:

Transaction #1:

Maybelline Mascara - $5.19 reg on sale for $3.12 less $1 MFC = $2.12 with $1UP

Maybelline Foundation - $8.69 reg on sale for $5.21 less $2 MFC = $3.21

Playtex Tampons - $5.29 reg on sale for $4 less $2 MFC with $3UP

(2) No Nonsense 3-pack Pantyhouse - $5.49 - Buy 1, Get 1 Free = $5.49 with $1UP

Nivea Q10 Skin Firming Lotion - $10.49 less $1 MFC = $9.49

Nivea Happy Sensation Lotion - $7.99 on sale for $3.99 less $2 MFC = $1.99 with $2UP

Final OOP (out of pocket):  $19.29

Retail:  $48.63
Plus $7UP to use toward future purchases

Less:  $5/$25 coupon

Less:  $7UP from previous purchase

Final OOP:  $15.95

Retail:  $39.34

Plus $20.50 UP for future purchase

Dishwasher Detergent (for work...will be reimbursed) = $4.79

(2) Paper Towels (for work...will be reimbursed) = $0.99 each or $1.98

So needless to say we will be pretty stocked up on toiletries.  :)
